Self-confidence is the difference line between feeling of soaring and fear from all actions, your ability to understand your personality has a great impact on how others look at you. In other words, the more you have self-confidence on yourself, the more you succeed in different aspects of life.
Although many factors are out of our will which affect our self-confidence, but we are still controlling some others to build a high degree of self-esteem, through using the following steps:
1. Put care into your appearance and clothes
You don't have to look like a Hollywood star to build yourself confidence. If you want to feel better about yourself then take care of yourself by showering daily, brushing your teeth, wearing well-fitting clothes and making sure that you've taken time with your appearance
2. Do not walk slowly
The easiest way to know how a person feels towards himself is observing his way of walk, is he walking slowly? Or as if he suffers pains or exhausted? Or walking in an energetic and lively manner.
Confident people walk quickly, because they have places they want to go to , or people they want to see or an important work they want to do.
3. Be satisfied
When you over think about your needs and wishes, your mind starts making excuses for failure to achieve those wishes and this leads to feeling of weakness and frustration.
The best way to avoid this feeling is to have a feeling of gratitude. So, try to think of all positive qualities you have in your life, remembering previous successes, unique skills, or emotional relationships. You will have a wonderful feeling towards yourself that push you to step forward to more success.
4. Pay compliments to others
Our negative way of thinking of ourselves is reflected on the way we treat others, therefore we start insulting them and talk badly about them. In order to break this circle of negativity, we have to get used to compliment other and praise them.
In this way you will be a lovable person and more confident, you have to know that as long as you look for the best in people, you will show the best you have indirectly.
5. Set in the first row
In schools, offices or public transportation, people always tend to sit in the last row because they afraid of being noticed which reflects their fear and lack of confidence.
If you sit in the first row, you will overcome this fear and gain more confidence. All people will notice your presence when speaking in the front of the room.
6. Don't Avoid Public Speaking
Many people don’t engage in group discussions because of fear of being judged as a trivial people. In fact, most of people have the same fear, but in general they actually accept each other more than we think.
Participation in group discussions will make you a fluent person in speaking to the public, will increase your self-confidence, and the others will see you as a leader.
If you have a fit and healthy body, you will feel more confident, active and attractive.
Exercising will improve your body shape and increase your energy. You have to know that your commitment in workout regularly will give you a better look , and will help you in commitment in other aspects of life.
8. Reward yourself
Congratulate yourself on a wonderful accomplishment you've achieved such as passing an academic test or getting a good job. Inform your friends about this achievement, you need to receive words of praise and admiration to increase your self-confidence.
